Miss MAXIM Competition a Success
at Sun Village Resort & Spa 

Vincent Partners was the key reason 27 international beauties arrived this past week at Sun Village Resort & Spa in the Dominican Republic to compete for the international title of Miss Maxim and a $100,000 modeling contract with Major Models in New York. 

The first week of photo shoots culminated in back to back parties open to hotel guests. Friday night, famous Canadian TV Chef, Teddy Reader held a big beach BBQ bash at his resort restaurant, Teddy’s Island BBQ, complete with live bands, a pig roast, amazing grilled gourmet cuisine and spectacular Maxim beauties from Mexico, Austria, Spain, the UK and numerous other international countries. 

On Saturday night, all 27 international contestants hosted a wild celebration on the resort’s massive Sonora Patio overlooking the beach with a liver performance by pop sensation Cindy Gomez!

Actor Anthony Anderson to receive DIFF Rising Star Award 

DIFF is pleased to announce that Anthony Anderson will receive the 2006 Rising Star Award at this year’s festival. An actor, writer, producer and comedian, Anderson first gained attention as one of Jim Carrey’s sons in Me, Myself and Irene and has subsequently appeared in such blockbuster films as Hustle & Flow, Barbershop, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Agent Cody Banks 2, Scary Movie 3 & 4, Exit Wounds, Two Can Play That Game and Malibu’s Most Wanted. 

A graduate of Howard University and the recipient of the NAACP’s ACTSO Award for his performance of the classic monologue from The Great White Hope, Anderson has also made numerous appearances on the small screen, including Ally McBeal, The Shield, About the Andersons, J.A.G. and NYPD Blue. Keep a look out for two feature films starring Anderson scheduled to premiere later this year: The Last Stand and The Departed.
